Lane Cove is a suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The municipality was formed in 1959 and it stretches from the north shore of Sydney Harbour to Port Jackson (Sydney Harbour). Lane Cove offers visitors many opportunities for recreation and relaxation with parks, bushland, and reserves. There are also plenty of cafes that offer outdoor dining options perfect for enjoying the views. Here are some great places to visit in Lane Cove:

Blackman Park

This is a great place to take a walk or go for a run. There is plenty of space to exercise and it’s also close to the Artarmon Station, so you can combine your visit with some public transport if necessary.

Bennelong Point Reserve

This is another fantastic park in Lane Cove NSW that offers stunning views of Sydney Harbour. It includes areas for picnics and barbecues as well as play equipment suitable for children aged between three years old and twelve years old. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own games too! The Bennelong Wharf Cafe overlooks this reserve providing visitors with shelter from any inclement weather they may experience while on their trip (just remember not to feed the seagulls!).

The Lane Cove National Park

This is the largest park in Lane Cove and it’s a great place to go for walks or bike rides. Visitors can also take advantage of the picnic areas that are provided so they don’t have to worry about packing their own lunch! The Blackwattle Bay Coastal Walk is located within this national park, offering views over Sydney Harbour and its many ports. There are plenty of opportunities here for birdwatching too with 22 different species including ospreys, sea eagles, black swans, and more visiting regularly.

Ferry Point Reserve

A little less well-known than some other parks on this list but still worth a visit nonetheless! This reserve has an area set aside just for those who are interested in birdwatching.

Lane Cove Bushland Park

This park is great for those who love the outdoors. It includes a bicycle track and walking path that stretches around over six kilometres including some high vantage points to enjoy the views of Sydney Harbour Bridge and other landmarks in Lane Cove.

Northbridge Ponds Nature Reserve

A little off-the-beaten-track but well worth a visit if you want to see wildlife up close! The reserve has been set aside as an area where native animals are able to live without interference from humans with visitors welcomed into this protected space only so long as they continue observing them from afar at all times (no touching!). Visitors can also enjoy fishing, kayaking, or canoeing on these manmade ponds which offer beautiful views across Banksia woodland during summer.
